Life is Good

I am bubbling over with excitement about some fun things happening in my little world today.  Some of you know that I used to write full-time for a great local magazine. I'd be lying if I said I didn't miss it dearly now that I am in my much less creative tech job. I've put feelers out for freelance gigs and was published today for the first time in Manner and Lane. It is always a thrill to see my words published, albeit digitally. Please check out the two pieces I wrote about dear, creative friends and be sure to subscribe for this fabulous bi-weekly publication.

You'll love Jane Humphreys and her new collection of beautiful vintage jewels called Prather Beeland. Share this link with your significant other as a not-so-subtle hint for Valentine's Day gift options.

Beth and Chris Collier's line of custom furniture, vanCollier, is to die for. They're truly the coolest, most creative couple I know and they were also just featured in Garden and Gun!

Another VERY very very VERY joyful thing that's happening to Adam and me...we're getting a puppy! We've talked about for as long as we've known each other but feel that now is finally a good time. We're both working from home full-time so we have plenty of time to devote to her (yes, we're getting a baby girl!) Let me preface this announcement with my personal belief that you should look into your adoption options before you pay money to a breeder for a dog.  I am, and always will be, a die-hard supporter of the rescue community but this is one decision that we've put A LOT of thought into. We've decided to go with a Labrador (a white English lab, to be exact) because we know that she is guaranteed to have a great disposition and will not only get along with our two firstborn babies, but also with our future human babies. She was born on January 19.

This is her Daddy....

And this is her Mommy. She is going to be a gorgeous, stocky, gentle, snow-white girl, just like her parents. She's even descended from British Royal dogs, so that means our dog is practically related to Will and Kate, no?

And these are pics of puppies from past litters at this same kennel. They only breed once or twice a year and are "hobby" breeders, as in this is not their main source of income. Both were extremely important factors when we were deciding on a breeder.

Don't worry, I'll be posting TONS of pics when we go pick her up in March. Needless to say, I'm beside myself with happiness. Puppy drunk, if you will. Y'all probably think we are insane, adding a third dog to our family, but there is nothing I want more.

And to round out the happy news, there are some exciting things happening with Two Majestic Mutts. I hope to be selling the beds in other locations in addition to my Etsy site soon! I'm also ramping up production as we make plans to grow our footprint, both online and in stores. I'll keep you posted. For now, we're running low on many of the fabrics you see online. Snag them while the gettin's good! I plan on "retiring" (taking a cue from my once-beloved Beanie Baby collection...ha!) some of the patterns after they sell out.

  1. English labs are the best! My parents have two and they are the absolute sweetest dogs on the planet - they welcomed Molls with open arms (nay, paws?)! Congrats on the new bebe, I can't wait to hear more, so exciting!!!! And love Jane's new adventure - amazing stuff! XOXO
